FAQs

What Kind of Massage Do You Give?

- The short answer: the massage you need.

Each session begins with a brief intake where I ask questions, assess your muscle stretch and tissue engagement, and tailor the treatment to your needs. My services include therapeutic massage, neuromuscular therapy, sports massage, lymphatic drainage, aromatherapy, polarity, and even techniques that can assist with Parkinson’s.

Most people don’t know the differences between these modalities, and that’s okay—I’ll explain my approach to help you understand your body’s physiology and movement patterns. My space is lined with mirrors, so you can see exactly what’s happening while I guide you through the process.

While there are relaxing elements, my focus is on achieving results rather than solely promoting relaxation. We’ll finish with stretches and a quick debrief, leaving you informed and ready to move forward

Why Did You Become a Masseur?

In 2014, I lost the use of my legs. Teaching myself to walk again inspired me to switch careers and help others who feel trapped in their bodies.

Is Extensive Training Necessary for a Masseur to Be Successful?

Absolutely. Continuing Education is required in New York State, and staying current with the latest research ensures the best outcomes. If your therapist doesn’t know what an olecranon is, they probably shouldn’t be using it on you.

How Should Clients Feel About Their Experience?

Like they can’t wait to book their next session. My work produces lasting results and includes teaching you better self-care practices.

What Distinguishes You From Other Masseurs?

First, it’s important to clarify the difference:

  • A masseur often implies an intimate or e*otic approach.

  • A manual therapist focuses on therapeutic changes, correcting habitual behaviors and postures, and improving range of motion.

To be certified in the United States, each state has their own minimum qualifications, the most . My training involved dissecting three cadavers and studying neurology, giving me an advanced understanding of the body. My work is designed to create lasting, tangible improvements.

What Are Your Hobbies?

I stay active, design clothing, manage properties, and build communities, I write, I'm actively involved in several charities, I walk on stilts, and on occasion I'm a nightlife performer.

Do You Remember Your First Client?

Yes! She was an older woman with a trucker’s mouth. She’d say the filthiest things while I worked on her and never stopped talking. Rest her soul—wherever she is, I hope she’s looking up at me, proud of the practitioner I’ve become.
